Sunlight warms the Earth, and the Earth gives off heat back toward space. Greenhouse gases (like CO₂) act like a blanket — they let sunlight in but trap some of the escaping heat. A little keeps us cosy; too much overheats the planet. Slide the gases and watch. More greenhouse gas = more trapped heat = warmer Earth.
